HETAS Certified Installations.

Who are HETAS?

HETAS is the only government recognised competent persons registration scheme specialising in the installation of solid fuel, wood and biomass technologies.

Can I install my own stove?

HETAS registered engineers will certify their installations under the competent persons scheme, providing the  customer with a certificate of complaince upon completion. A copy of the certificate is also sent onto HETAS who record the installation with the relevant local authority, saving you time and money.

If you choose to complete your own installation you will need to contact your own local authority to apply for an appropriate building notice and pay the required fee, which can cost around £300 per job.

Other benefits to having a HETAS certified installation.

A certificate of compliance may be required when completing any home insurance claims. It may also be requred when letting a propety with a solid fuel appliance installed or when selling a property. Most stove maufacturers will also request a copy when processing any warranty claims, to ensure the appliance has been correctly installed.

Further information can be found in the HETAS  leaflets below.
